Anchored

“I didn’t think we were going to make it.” These are the chosen words from sailors who returned from voyages who endured the horrific storms of the sea.

They pull the sails certain ways, anchor if needed and steer in such a fashion to get out of the storm as safely as possible. One wants the ship to keep moving into the waves with the least amount of strain on the sails or masts.

A storm as incredible as a hurricane, one may think, “It is a terrible idea to anchor a ship during that time.” However, it may actually be the best option. It will keep the bow pointed into the wind so that the ship can safely move instead of capsizing.

While I can not share details of the hurricane I am currently in, I know for sure the anchor I have is strong. He is keeping me from capsizing, and He will be there every single time that I need Him without fail.

19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:19-20

I don’t have answers.

I don’t know how the storm will progress.

And I don’t know what kind of clean up will have to be done after this hurricane passes.

But I do know He is going to be my anchor and He will give me the strength to endure this season.

While I may not know the storms that you are in nor you I, but lets make a point to pray over each other this week.
