Falling

24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 NIV

 I blew out my knee.

Again.

It’s been nearly six years since I did it the first time falling off of a horse but this time it was a different kind of horsepower. The vroom-vroom kind … my truck. That’s right, this cowgirl was unloading hay and kerplunk I went off the tailgate onto my bad knee and twisted it up pretty badly.

My boyfriend took me to the ER to get checked out, it wasn’t broken but I was told to go see my ortho for an MRI. We’ll see what the results are but for now the diagnosis is a terrible sprain. The treatment plan for now is crutches, a knee brace, some R&R and this girl humbly asking for help.

Anyone that knows me knows 100% I do not like to ask for help. Even my girls this week were telling me “Mama not uh, you better wait and let me bring you your crutches.” Oh, and my oldest told me I think it was Monday, “If you go outside to do anything you better take your phone because I’m not callin’ for an ambulance if you fall down again because you’re too stubborn.” I laughed and said, “Ok I get it I’ll stop pushin’ it.” So apparently I’m going around the mountain again to learn the lesson to not be so stubborn and ask for help.

Unbeknownst to them, mama has been in a season of praying for some things to change. Praying for situations, hearts, circumstances to all balance out again. I didn’t like what I was seeing in certain areas but the only thing I knew to do was to pray and keep praying.

I believe that that the Bible is true, I believe it does not return void and I also know that the battle has already been won.

Isaiah 55:11 NIV 11 so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

John 16:33 NIV 33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

This accident was 100% my fault and I own that. I also believe that He is going to use this situation to restore certain things and answer prayers. And let me tell you - I’ve already begun to see it. This was definitely (….heavy on the definitely….) NOT the way I wanted my prayers answers but my goodness if this is how He is gonna do it then ok. God, you do what you do best – take it all and your will be done.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

I may not know you’re circumstances and you may not know mine but what I do know is God is going to give you the keys unlock the doors; He is going to move the mountain and He will give you the wisdom and community to help figure your situation out.

My challenge for you this week is for you to pray continuously about what you are needing. Every single day. Dedicate time to your situation and keep going to God about it. He will either change you, change the circumstance or both.

Be open to the answer He delivers. Sometimes you may not like the answer – even if it is a no or a not right now. I certainly didn’t like me busting up my knee again and even that was my own doing I am allowing God to use the situation for His good and I am seeing things I prayed for come to life from this circumstance.
