Standing

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, Ephesians 6:14

Anyone who has had a knee injury knows that it just sucks. There is no other explanation other than that. Recently I shared I had re-injured the knee I blew out six years ago. The ortho appointment is nearing so I’ll know soon what is going on. However, in the mean time there has been discomfort, pain, inflammation, limited abilities, and leaning into other people for some help.

This is now week two of the injury recovery. While the inflammation and discomfort has subsided significantly, it is still present. I can stand but my knee still feels too stiff to stand up 100% straight without assistance. I do not feel confident enough yet to not wear a brace or use crutches.

Yesterday my youngest had a field trip to Chuckee Cheese and a friend of mine and her family was also there. We were standing and conversing about different things and the discomfort was setting in the longer we talked. I was still standing there with a bent knee and holding a crutch to stabilize my body. I still needed help.

That’s when God was nudging me a little bit with how parallel it ran to current life circumstances. This week more than ever I have leaned into God and my community for strength and support. I needed my Aaron’s like Moses did in order to continue to stand strong.

Exodus 17:12-14 NIV  12 When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword.

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.”

While I do not know what is going on in your day to day lives but I can assure you just as my support team has me – breath, pray and believe God will fight your battles for you!!

Deuteronomy 20:4 For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

Isaiah 40: 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.
