Fruit from the blessing

Last fall I wrote a post entitled, “Don’t throw your blessings away.” It was a short post about how I had tossed aside summer garden plants into the burn pile and plowed it over. It was nothing I didn’t do on a normal basis.

I expressed how I noticed little seedlings of some sort pushing forth from the ground. My fall beds were all accounted for and I wasn’t looking to plant anything else at this point. Early that Sunday, the still voice of the Holy Spirit whispered as I sipped my morning coffee. “Why are you tossing away your blessings?” I thought, what on earth? I’m diligent Lord to use your blessings accordingly, what do you mean?

“The tomato plants, daughter.”

I took the seedlings and transplanted them into one of my fall beds. Much to my surprise, those little plants grew into some of the most gorgeous tomato plants. They looked better than even my summer ones!

I had full-sized and juicy cherry tomatoes into the new year!! As a matter of fact, I still have some on the vine and on my window seal ripening and we are well into January now. This is nearly six months after my summer seed crop expired.

At this point these seeds have been through the scorching summer sun, torrential rains, hard winds, frost and a hard freeze. However – all of those circumstances STILL didn’t stop the blessing of fruit to grow!

I may not know where you’re at in whatever season you’re in – but I can tell you that you know when you’re about to reap fruit and blessing into your life because it comes after the struggles of growth!

Job didn’t have hardly any strength during the latter part of his trials but he still said, “Blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21). This was a man who lost his children, possessions, friends, health, servants but he never lost his faith completely.

After all the trials he went through, Job still had enough faith to believe things were going to turn out AND he still prayed for his friends who were often harder on him than necessary. This is when the Lord turned those seeds of faith into blessing from his “winter” season of grimness.

Show me a person in their winter season and despite whatever hardship they are experiencing they still have enough faith to get up every day, praise the Lord and pray. And you will see a person reaping blessings very soon into their spring season unexpectantly and out of nowhere.

The bible says in Job chapter 42 that it was AFTER he prayed for his friends that the Lord restored things to him. And it wasn’t just a once over kind of deal. The Lord doubled what Job had. I’m not saying your circumstances will match Job nor am I saying you will have monetary blessings double although it is possible. I don’t know the Lord’s future will for you.

What I am saying is, one, do not throw away your blessing of seedlings. And then two, if you truly notice, cultivate and protect those sprouts in the garden of your faith – trust me you will see the fruit come forth like you never have before dear reader.

I am seeing prayers answered unexpectantly which have been on His alter now for years. I am seeing things move where I didn’t think things could move.

He is still a God of the impossible as long as it is in accordance with His will. Luke 18:27 says, Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”

I pray that as you continue into the week, month and year that you will see the things you planted start to grow into sturdy vines of fruit for you, your family and your circles around you.

You’re not alone. Despite what doubt might try to sneak into your mind. You’re loved.

Y’all take care and have a warm week and if you need prayer over something specific, please feel free to send a message on the contact page.
