Shape memory effect

There is a term in science called the shape memory effect. According to Science Direct, this refers to the “ability of certain materials to remember an original shape even after rather severe deformation.”

We are no different and there are scriptures sprinkled into the Bible about the Lord’s craftsmanship.

Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

When our spirit comes into alignment with the Lord and we invite him into our hearts, we become a part of the Kingdom. Following our confession of faith, we baptize our physical body to reflect the commitment to the Lord to live within our best ability - a godly life. More times than not, trials come soon after to test our faith in order to refine us into the person the Lord would like us to be. (Oh, the stories I could tell about refinement….)

It's a heating process that pulls things off of us that do not need to stay but also returns us to our “original shape”. It doesn’t matter how many things we endure this side of heaven, as long as we are in alignment with Him, we’ll be more than alright.

There are times when I am reading the word, having my prayer time like I should and disciplined in my worship time with the Lord. Then, I get busy and before I know it I’ve deviated from my plans. I’ll read for shorter amounts of time, forget to pray and the list goes on. This doesn’t mean that I’ve lost my faith or I’m a bad person. It does mean that I’m human and the Lord isn’t going to hate me or kick me down to hell either. He is gracious and is understanding.

Life circumstances may also happen and then I’ll feel the tug from the holy spirt to re-engage and “return” to my original state.

The heating, otherwise known as tests and trials are not meant to deter you. They’re meant to keep you coming back to your original creator and His design for you.

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

He has good plans for you even if you don’t see it – yet.

Stay focused, in the word and your eyes lifted high. You’re going to see soon enough what it was all for, just wait sweet reader. Just wait.
