Spring showers
Just as the sky sprinkles down rain from a 7 am rain shower on the way to school so does life sometimes sprinkle at inconvenient times.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy a good rain storm, because I absolutely do! Curling up on the back porch with a good book, cup of coffee and rain falling onto the tin roof is bliss this side of heaven. However, being pressed for time with kids that don’t want to get wet, working the front property gate and being overly vigilant for drivers not driving properly in wetness … stresses me a bit.
The rain is falling in its proper time. It’s not early, late or un courteous, despite what I might think. If the rain doesn’t come, the sun cannot use it for germination or cleansing of the earth.
The same goes for us. If the storms of life do not come, why would we need the Son of God to help us grow and cleanse us?
Only after bluebonnet seeds have been in the ground for months do they end up growing in the spring time. They endure cold temperatures, freezes, harsh winds and eventually the early spring showers. Texas springs has days of sunshine sprinkled into our gloomy days. Eventually these seeds emerge from the darkened earth to sprout forth the beautiful blue hues of Texas.
You will not be stuck in your winter season. If you’re evaluating where you’re at right now I can promise you spring is coming.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Persevere, stay consistent in your relationship with the Lord and keep praying. Blooms are coming.
