Winter

When we observe someone else’s season from the outside looking in, we only see the highlights. Very rarely do we see the struggle they went through to get there.

What makes seasons so unique is every one of them has its unique struggle. Regardless of who we are or where we are in life, when we understand this, we become more likely to appreciate the season we are in.

While we may long for the positive aspects of other people’s happy moments, there are always parts of our own life that other people may long for. Even beautiful seasons have a different look and feel when we live in them.

What are you saying about where you’re at currently? Because what we say about our season will determine the way we experience it.

The hardest part of winter is the bitter cold and damage that could be incurred. Branches break, trees become weak and root rot. Pipes may burst and hidden issues may surface in order for you to make repairs. Subsequently, our hurt or pain is exposed from circumstances that allows us to see where we need to heal.

John 15:2 says, He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn’t produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more.

I’m gonna tell you right now, I’d rather be cut back than cut off.

Winter is rough. Especially right now when all of us South Texans are freezing because we are not built for this down here. I want my 60 something temps back! However, even in all of the bitter cold, there is still purpose for it all. While things are being tucked away for dormancy, they’re storing up energy for new growth for spring.

What do you see as dormant in your life right now?
What things are being cut away for new growth in your spring season?

What is being stored up and will be watered when the winter snow of life melts?

You’re right where you need to be and remember God is never late. Just be patient, He hears you.

I pray y’all stay warm and have a great rest of your week.

Take care,

Jamie
